Summary

During my elementary and junior high school years, I participated in school arts festivals and cultural festivals, and around the fourth or fifth grade, I loved movies so much that I would watch films shown at a cinema operated by a friend's family. After advancing to high school, I became deeply involved in drama, encouraged by a senior member of the drama club.

After graduating from high school, I moved to Tokyo and joined the Shichiyokai Theater Group. My performance in the leading role of "A Streetcar Named Desire" was recognized, and a TBS director who saw it approached me to voice the lead role in a one-hour Western drama, leading to my role as the voice of Ty Hardin, the protagonist of the foreign drama "Bronco." This marked the beginning of my career as a voice actor, and I have since been active in many anime and dubbing roles.

My anime debut was in 1964 with "Big X," based on a work by Tezuka Osamu. He voiced the role of Tomozo in the national anime "Chibi Maruko-chan", the original Piccolo Daimao in "Dragon Ball", and dubbed the voice of Dr. Emmett Brown in the "Back to the Future" series, and was beloved for his comedic and affectionate expressions.
