As the strongest warrior of the Root Clan, he possesses half the power of Yomi. A formidable fighter who waged fierce battles against seven heroes of the Fire Clan a thousand years ago. He is the one responsible for sinking the capital city of the Fire Clan into Lake Biwa.
Nanashi-no-jyūhachiban and Gouten Myouō, whom he fought at Ōeyama, are brothers. Due to his inexhaustible fighting spirit and his cruelty that delights in slaughter, he is described by the Three Doctors as "a man born for battle."
