Summary
During his childhood, due to circumstances at home, he didn't watch much television. However, his sister and mother were fond of musicals and plays, so he often accompanied them to watch these performances. Influenced by these experiences, he solidified his desire to become a stage actor.
In college, he joined a theater group and began acting on stage. He started attending rehearsals regularly, which led to him dropping out of college. However, as there was no income from theatrical activities alone, he was introduced to a production company by the theater staff, which eventually led him to work in TV dramas and movies. During this time, he passed an audition for an anime and made his voice acting debut in 1984 with the role of Shulgi Nam in the OVA "BIRTH".
As a voice actor, he has played a variety of roles from handsome heroes to ruthless villains and comedic characters. He possesses a unique voice that perfectly fits quirky roles, making him popular internationally as well. His voice is so distinctive that once heard, it leaves an impression of "a voice I've heard somewhere before".
