Summary

Around her second year of middle school, she began to think, "I want to be a voice actor for anime," and her determination grew stronger day by day. After graduating high school, she convinced her parents to let her move to Tokyo with the promise, "If I don't make it by the time I'm 25, I'll come back." She lived in a small, old apartment and worked part-time while applying to the Actor Training School affiliated with the Tokyo Actor Cooperative Association (Haikyō). She passed the audition for Haikyō.

Her career as a voice actor began in 1983 with guest appearances in various works. The following year, she landed the lead role of Jeanne in Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross. In 1985, she participated in the finals of the 29th Yamaha Popular Song Contest as part of the twin-vocal band Ame ni Kamisama with Takahashi Miki, winning awards in four categories.

Her vocal range spans alto to mezzo-soprano. She is well-known for playing strong-willed, haughty, and sexy characters but also excels in portraying pure and demure roles.
Her notable roles include Hino Rei/Sailor Mars in the Sailor Moon series and Kanzaki Sumire in the Sakura Wars series.
