Summary
Born in Zhejiang Province, Republic of China (now Zhejiang Province, People's Republic of China), he was carried by his parents across mainland China to the south and east and eventually across the sea about a month before the end of the war. When he was around two years old, his family returned to their hometown of Tokyo, Japan. His parents took him to audition for a children's theater troupe, and he joined the Kodomo Gekidan Kojika troupe, where he began working as a child actor. Around the age of 15 or 16, he started acting professionally. There were several periods when he left acting, and at the age of 30, he worked as a salaryman for a financial company.
His vocal range is tenor. Since the dawn of anime, he has been active in heroic roles. After starring in Mach GoGoGo, he gained fame as one of the veterans in the industry, appearing in works such as Science Ninja Team Gatchaman. In addition to playing heroic characters, he has portrayed a variety of roles, including allies, enemies, and the protagonist's romantic interests. He is known for voicing gentle and handsome characters. In recent years, he has also taken on elderly roles.
