Since 1972, he served as a lecturer at Nihon University College of Art, and in 1975, he became a professor. He was awarded the Medal with Purple Ribbon in 1992 and the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette in 1997.
As a voice actor, he was known for his distinctive narration style, but he was most famous for being the official Japanese dubbing voice of Humphrey Bogart. He was highly respected within the industry and was recognized as Bogart’s dedicated dubbing actor.
On April 23, 2020, in the early morning, he passed away due to heart failure at a hospital in Tokyo at the age of 96.
