He was best known for voicing Daisuke Jigen in Lupin the Third and his work in foreign film dubbing. In October 2021, at the age of 88, he announced his retirement from the role of Jigen after having played the character for 50 years, with the first episode of Lupin the Third Part 6 being his final performance. He had intended to continue until 90, but due to physical limitations, he found it difficult to attend weekly recordings, leading him to make the painful decision to step down.
